Kalin Mittleider Ivany was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in November 2023. Judge Ivany earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2004 from Walla Walla University and a Juris Doctor in 2008 from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. From 2010 to 2023, she served as an assistant chief counsel with the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, in Denver, Colorado. From 2009 to 2010, she practiced immigration law with the Perretta Law Office in West Jordan, Utah. From 2008 to 2009, she served as an attorney advisor at the Salt Lake City Immigration Court, entering on duty through the Attorney General’s Honors Program. Judge Ivany is a member of the Colorado Bar.
