Attorney General William P. Barr appointed Michael A. Tripi as an immigration judge in June 2020. Judge Tripi earned a Bachelor of Science in 2004 from Kent State University and a Juris Doctor in 2007 from Cleveland State University, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. From 2009 to 2020, he served as an assistant chief counsel, Office of Chief Counsel, Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, in Cleveland. From 2007 to 2009, he served as an assistant prosecutor with the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office, in Akron, Ohio. Judge Tripi is a member of the Ohio State Bar.
